From Ceppo to the Bear Lake

Starting from the piazzale del Ceppo , take the paved road that goes up to the campsite. At the fork, take the dirt road on the left which begins to climb, the road is wide and offers suggestive views of the Gran Sasso and the Catena della Laga.
You continue to climb on the dirt road until you reach Colle Lungo. After passing the junction for the Cavata waterfalls, you reach the source of the Trocche and the Lago dell’Orso .
In this area there is a refuge for shepherds, in fact, during the pastoral period, the territory is rich in sheep as the pastures offer excellent forage for the flocks. From here it is possible to admire a fantastic view of the Laga chain and Monte Gorzano.
